Clemens Vasters holds the position of Architect in the Azure Engineering Group at Microsoft Corporation in Redmond, WA. In his role, he drives technical strategy for Microsoft’s cloud and on-premises messaging middleware platforms, Service Bus and Event Hubs. His current focus is on guidance around and improvement of capabilities for connecting special-purpose devices from vehicles to environmental sensors to and through the cloud in a trustworthy fashion and at consumer product and utility scale. Before joining Microsoft 9 years ago, he worked on financial solutions and in business developer consulting, was an MVP and RD, has written several books and courseware, and has by now spoken at nearly 1000 events in over 50 countries. He is a member of the Technical Advisory Committee and the Unified Architecture Working Group of the OPC Foundation, and contributes to various other standardization efforts.
